Incredibly arrogant, cheeky and bossy host (Mr. Walser)! We had reserved a table on this hot and sunny day for 4 people, so far so good. We allowed ourselves to place the table of four about 30cm further under the parasol, which was no problem at all for reasons of space. He forbade us with such loud shouting and nagging (all guests at the neighboring tables shook their heads) and insulted ... "what comes to mind, one would have to ask, put it back immediately and exactly to the place of origin, typically Germans take everything out etc. etc. " After more than 30 years in Switzerland, I have never seen such a host! Bottom drawer, there is nothing more to say about it. A disgrace to the innkeepers. On Tripadvisor and here on google (unfortunately read too late) there are enough reviews that confirm my negative report. Enjoy everyone who will be going to this place in the future, hopefully your host will fit your nose ...

The view over Lake Constance is beautiful! The terrace is shaded with awnings and generous. The food is good, but the menu is not long. The selection is still solid and you will always find a little something.In the picture you can see the great view.The staff are only nice women, the host I did not meet.

Great view! Fine food ... nice atmosphere

Super nice tavern with very good regional food. The boss and the service were very nice and tried hard. All in all, a successful evening, until the boss of the house has mocked us because my little child has cried briefly. I should leave the place immediately, with my unkempt child. There was only one more table occupied, and the gentlemen had joked with my little one up to that point. Too bad, we were looking forward to further visits there. But if you read the reviews here, the landlord often goes to his guests.

As always, we were spoiled with a fine meal and good wine in the Windegg.We like to come back because everything is right for us.After paying a dear Aufwiedersehn of the host and the service.Yes, we'll be back even if it's not around the corner for us !! Friendly service, beautiful views of the Lake Constance region and simply comfortable, look forward to the fall / winter time with a creamy Fondeu in the dining room.Until then ........... Grumpy hostLooking for a restaurant for a car trip we found the Windegg - and were immediately impressed by the great location and the ambience of the entire area. Our good mood, however, was gone when the landlord stepped on the scene. Without asking, he told us to drink something and not just look at it. When we expressed our concerns, we got to hear what's not (!) More. It was too much anyway. Well, since we wanted to eat at this beautiful place anyway, we looked over the rude reception and took a seat.With delicious food we enjoyed the ambience and the great view. The two, in contrast to the host, absolutely polite and courteous waitresses let us forget the sullen reception. Dear host, Swiss courtesy goes to guests!Conclusion: A great place with a downer!

Malicious host!If you want to spoil your day, visit the Windegg business. The landlord rules everything and everyone, including his guests. Just don't dare to do anything without being asked and certainly not to move the table 10 cm. After racist insults about our origins - which is wounded, Düütsche are surely there more often - we packed our things and left the economy of undone things. The vouchers were loudly refused to reimburse the vouchers for services not performed.By the way, Mr. Wirt, we gave each other (4 people) the vouchers, we didn't need a Swiss to do so.Too bad, the location of the guest terrace is very nice, but we could not enjoy anything here.

5 stars for the restaurant and the location and the staff. 0 points for the very unfriendly and rude host. Stay out of the way and it will be a great experience!

On a beautiful patch of earth, with a view of Lake Constance, we were allowed to enjoy a culinary and hospitable evening in the Windegg. We were served a very fine meal in a very nice restaurant. Very cordial staff, which you do not find so often today! Thanks to Erika & Sarina

Absolute cheek how the would-be host behaves. Better to consume on the border than to spend the hard-earned money with a drunk Swiss. Never again and definitely not to be recommended!

A fantastic place, the view, the house, the food, the service ... etceverything fits, I really enjoy going to the Windegg. Even with people from abroad these are always very fond of the beautiful place

Extremely unfriendly host! We passed spontaneously at Windegg and were welcomed by the innkeeper at the entrance. He told me there was no table left. A lady sitting alone at a table got this and indicated that she was about to pay and leave, which would clear the table. I then politely indicated to the landlord that a table was about to be vacated. He then told me in a sharp tone that the guests would not have to determine who was sitting where he still would. I then told him that this was not my intention and that I was just hinting that a table was about to be set free. Thereupon there was a short speech from the landlord in sharp words that I can not determine when his guests went or where I sat. I then wished him a good evening and left - I will definitely not visit this restaurant anymore because I do not want to support such an outrageous and irreverent person.
